Art of the title

Art of the title is a website that includes a huge range of title sequences and detailed descriptions on how the sequences were made for the film and how they match and are able to give the audience an idea of what the film is about.

My favourite title sequence is the opening to mission impossible.
I find this title sequence to be very effective towards the audience as it is instantly began with an

intense opening which will excite the viewers, the title sequence will also result in people wanting to continue watching the film for the excitement. The opening sequence acts as both trailer and primer, it also gives the viewers a glimpse of what the film is going to be about, in mission impossibles case it would be about spies. typography and that iconic Lalo Schifrin-composed score ground the opening in the series’ origin as a ’60s television show. The intensity and excitement caused by the opening title sequence is a great technique in keeping the audience interested, also by giving the audience a glimpse of what the film is about it will keep them interested and engaged in what is happening.

Another title sequence I found effective on the website was Gone girl. The title sequence to gone girl
is a very calm but spooky opening. It suggests the film is going to create curiosity, confusion and an
intense atmosphere. The filter of the screen in my opinion creates mystery and intensity and suggests
to the audience that something will happen. By creating a mysterious title sequence, it will keep the
audience engaged by trying to work out what will happen in the film, unlike mission impossible the
title sequence to this film is a lot more hidden and secretive and doesn't give away what the film is
about which is another technique used to keep the audience engaged.
