title sequences evaluation

Mission impossible is from the production company Paramount pictures. the title sequence intercuts with selected scenes within the film, this means that the audience get an idea of each scene in the film and what will happen. The order of the title sequence starts with the name of the production company, followed by the actors and actresses. The title sequences suit the film, this is because we know the film is going to be a fast action, intense film so to match this the title sequence is also intense and quick which helps back up the genre of the film. The title sequence does give the audience a glimpse into what the film is about but not to a point that it ruins the excitement of the film.

Gone Girl is from the production company 20th Century Fox. The title sequence creates a spooky and suspicious atmosphere, there are no sections of the film put in the sequence to give an idea of what happens in the film like in Mission Impossible. There is a use of fades on the names of the actors and to imply that someone is going to eventually fade away but we don't yet know who as its the beginning of the film. There are shots of numerous landscapes that suggest it's a film that has a lot of settings because someone has gone missing. Overall the opening sequence to Gone Girl creates an atmosphere of curiosity and suspicion meaning that the audience will want to carry on watching the film to see what i's about.
